Wow, they are precious! In my experience, I'm sure they are just getting acclimated to the new surroundings and family. I'm sure that day by day will make a difference. Just give them time-mine are still alittle skiddish around us :)

Welcome and they are sooooo cute!

Coming out of their piggy shells takes time! My girly goos are still skittish - and we've been together almost a year.

:)

I know, but in the next few days your patience will benefit everyone. They are prey creatures naturally so hands coming in from above will scare them instinctually. Just spend time speaking softly and sitting near the cage. Mine love a treat of celantro and while they are enjoying I grab a quick pet and assure them that I am a friend. Hang in there :)

Thank y'all for the replies!
yes,im gonna be patient... But tomorrow i really have to clean the cage and i dont want it to be a stressful time for them. Otherwise long hair piggies need to be brushed frequently... Hope they stay calm

hi ruben! you'll get lots of great advice here. look up on how to get your piggies used to you etc. Ive had my girls for a bit over a year now & although they're ok with me we haven't bonded & they don't like being handled much at all. Quietly persevere, don't chase them around the cage or they'll stress & dont approach from above, keep talking to them, encourage them to feed from your hand (maybe some enticing parsley or lovely fresh grass etc), when youre able to pick them up maybe hold them gently to your chest/shoulder while they're still in the cage at first & for only a minute or two, lengthening time & bringing them out of the cage....giving them a treat at the same time could help them relax a bit more. I've learned a lot from this site & reading from renowned piggy specialists.. it will take time, sooner or later.. although mine are not friendly-friendly they have greatly improved from being the frightened hidey little babies they were. sorry this was meant to be a quick reply - hang in there!

here I go waffling on again..I meant to add about the cleaning.. you could put your piggies in a box with some hay & something to hide under while you clean the cage. at some stage you may be able to do so while theyre still in the cage - mine love to explore while Im cleaning, or sometimes sit at one end watching until finished. once theyre in your arms they will accept the grooming - look up for advice on that too.

Welcome! Your pigs are beautiful. They are in new surroundings so it's normal for them to be scared. What I did with mine was to keep putting my hand in the cage and not touching them. Once they were use to that, I tried offering a carrot. One of mine still runs most of the time when I go to pick her up, but she doesn't hide. I just put one hand in front of her to stop her and pick her up with the other hand. The other one will stop so I can pick her up.

Today they are the same, hiding when I'm near or hear any sound. Afraid of everything. I think I've got to do my daily life...my routine. i want to leave the piggies alone to settle down and to become familiar with the surroundings, but still feeding and talking softly to them, maybe it's the best for them. Hope they find quickly the fact that they are secure in their own new accommodation....
