Adopting Pet mice and pig questions (not interacting!)

So yesterday someone had the great idea to dump a mouse and his cage outside work. I'm considering adopting the poor mouse, but I'm not sure if that's so great when I already have pigs. They won't be having physical interaction with each other, but they may possibly be set up next to the pigs. Is there anything the pigs could catch from the mouse or should I put it in a different room? Additionally, if anyone knows about mice, is it even smart to keep a mouse in a home with cats? I read that it can make mice perpetually nervous and could be considered cruel.
