Curious if anyone has pet insurance for their pigs. My new job has pet insurance benefits, so I signed up my 4 boars for a very nice price. AFAIK, Nationwide is the only one that insures exotics in the USA. I think it's only illness coverage, which is what I was looking as wellness checks will only be yearly and it isn't like they need vaccines or anything.
The coverage is a $250 deductible, reimbursement up to $7500. I'm not too entirely sure what percentage they pay back (70% to 90%??). That is per pet, so while I would have to pay the deductible per pig, I would be able to get reimbursed up to $7500 per pig.
Of course I don't want to have to use it, but given my expensive history with my past pigs, this will be a decent investment.
