What is the minimum safe height from the top of the bedding layer to the top of the coroplast for a baby / young guinea pig so that it does not have accident of some sort with the grids including escaping?

Thank you

We usually recommend decreasing the space between the holes in the grids (by overlapping them, or putting temporary cardboard/coroplast on the sides) rather than using the height of the bedding.

Guinea pigs can climb grids, although most don't, but it would depend on how determined your pig is to get out and whether it's smart enough to realize it can climb.

Thank you. We are trying to work out how much temporary coroplast to put on there so that the grid holes are covered up to an appropriate height for a baby / juvenile. I'm not sure which bedding we will use yet, or what height it will be, but if I know what height from their feet (top of the bedding) needs to be safely covered holes, then we can make the coroplast high enough once we know the depth of the bedding we will be using.

Also, if guinea pigs can climb grids, what would this measurement be for an adult guinea pig so that they can't reach the grids to climb them. We are not intending having a lid on the cage, and it's at a height, so it would be awful if one did climb up and drop off the side.

Thanks.
