how long does it usually take for a tooth to grow back. One of mine chopped down to hard on a waterbottle nad broke his top tooth.I ve already went to Glynx and how to handle it till it grows back but it doesnt say how long itll take???????????????????????????

Should be a few weeks at most. They grow amazingly fast. MAKE SURE your guinea pig is eating, even if you have to hand-feed.

thanx. Hes eating his food fine cause there small enough and hes drinking but the carrots need to be stemmed then shaved for hmi to eat them. Also i cook the brocoli and mostly all veges that i give him spoilt little piggy :)

Yup that's true, guinea pigs shouldn't have prepared food. Try getting baby food from a grocery store instead. I've heard many people who had pigs that wouldn't/couldn't eat were handfed baby food and they recovered :)

I didnt know they could have babyfood. Hum thats interesting.

Really, if a guinea pig needs hand feeding, you should give it syringed pellet slurry and purreed raw veggies, or a formula specifically made for hand feeding guinea pigs like Oxbow's Critical Care.

Baby foods usually have sugar, salt and other additives in, and don't usually have enough fibre for guinea pigs either. This is very important to keep their digestive tract in good working order, especially when they're not eating a normal amount. It's best to stick to what's good for them, and to what they usually eat - especially when they're ill.

This page has lots of information on what to feed them, if they need handfeeding. https://www.guinealynx.info/emergencymedicalguide.html#handfeeding
