Purring?!?!

The best food is Oxbow. ((broken link removed)). Get the Cavy Performance if your pig is under six months, and Cavy Cuisine if he is over. They have a store locator on the webpage. Make sure the food you get has nothing added (no seeds, nuts, or colored bits)

If he is under six months, feed alfalfa hay. KM's alf/blue is the best for young pigs. ((broken link removed)) Bluegrass or timothy are good for older pigs.

1/3 a cup of pellets should be max. He should have unlimited hay, and one cup of veggies per day. What veggies (quantities, too) are you feeding?

Oxbowhay does sound good. I will try to pick it up somewere :D

I feed a slice of pepper (no seeds) a little piece of baby carrot, and a slice of cucumber. a little later in the day i give them a little piece of orange (skin included)

shipping is very, very, costly lol... i hate shipping :/

I drive 45 minutes regularly for Oxbow- but I just bought a 10 lb bag from The Critter Store. I payed like 9$ shipping for the 10 lb bag, two cuddle cups, and some hay treats.

This is very good: https://guinealynx.com/nutrition.html

Variety, variety, variety. Mix it up. Romaine or red leaf lettuce (no iceberg) should be the base of his salad. One baby carrot 3 times a week is max- they cause liver trouble. Good everyday things are cilantro, red leaf, romaine, cucmber, and bell pepper. Good 2-3 days a week food is parsley, tomato, endive, kale, etc. Fruit is good 3 days a week, too much can cause diahrea.

Timmeh where are you located? (sorry if you already said)

I also heard from somewere that you can feed your pig peppermint leaves?? i havent tried it as i fear they may be incorrect, but i do have some growing in my garden...

Wisconsin I think.

Monroe, Wisconsin

I have not heard of that. I don't know the standing of herbs. (Is that an herb? I am not good with plants)

A handfull of organic grass with nothing sprayed on it that is not picked by the roadside is good too. Mine love it.

Rose petals are a good occasional treat too.
