Purring?!?!

Oh.. that is so sad.

I have three rescues, two of them were from Maine. A family had them, and didn't want them anymore because they already had a dog, or something close to that.

Simon, in my avatar, was a seizure from a breeder with 24 pigs running loose in a barn.

Aww... I feel so bad for both of your piggies.

Wow, that is very sad! 24 Pigs!!! And why would that family with a dog just throw away an animal like that? Its called dedication...

Thank you for your sympathy, Daisy.

Is there any possibility of holding your piggie TOO much? I hope not... I let him have a lot of floor time though so i know he is getting his exersize.

Eh, I would let them have a few hours of 'no-touch' time, just beacuse pigs do like to be on the floor exploring, and taking a nap in a cuddle cup, and eating a lot. But lots of cuddling is good. If he is out in floortime a lot that is fine. Just as long as he has access to hay and water all the time.

Okay, good. Im gonna drop by the Beast Buffet tomorrow to pick up some new stuff for Mr. Pickles. For travel, in the car for instance, is it okay to keep your guinea pig in a large, seethrough rubbermaid container while in the car??? Because i havent had any luck storing his cage in the car....

No cap on the container, of course :D

and its not like tupperware... its like a big bin.

I personally use a cat carrier. A rubermaid bin, maybe with fleece in it, would be suitable for trips in the car. Just as long as he can't jump out and it is not closed.

<EDIT> Ok, no cap is good.

Okay, that sounds good. Also, with the whole harness thing, is it that it hurts the pig??

You want to make sure you get the Cavy Performance. See if they have any alfalfa hay too. (Never buy Kaytee or L/M hay, ever)

Okay. But timothey hay is okay too, right?

Timothy hay is okay. Optimally he should have alfalfa. He should be fine on timothy.

Isnt alfalfa really rich though? i have also seen alfalfa cubes too, are those okay?

Alfalfa is high in calcium, which is what he needs for growing. If you can't find decent alfalfa, giving timothy hay and alfalfa cubes would also work. I do suggest alfalfa hay if you can find it.

Okay, i will make sure to pick some up tomorrow. Well, I have to go now! It was very nice chatting with you all! I will be back on tomorrow.
Timmeh

Great talking to you too! Goodnight.
