is a kiwano fruit good for gp's

I bought a kiwano fruit at the store because I had never seen anything like it. Its bright yellow-orange and has spikes all over it. The inside is seedy and each seed is in a capsill of slim. It doesn't taste very good. It is from New Zealand. Well anyway, I was wondering if it would be ok to give to the girls. They are very picky and I put a little of the rind in the cage and Apple ate some, but I took it back out until I could ask here. It has 40 % vitamin C. Nothing bad that I could find on the value sheet. It nobody knows is there an Australian or New Zealand site that it could be moved to?
