I am about to lose my mind to the constant wheeking and chasing and "arguing' my girls are doing! The have seperate hidey's, they have a 2X4 cage, they have plenty of veggies, hay and lovin's but they are just chasing and arguing constantly? Any ideas on what this is and why?
Oh, they are a bonded pair of females that have been together forever and are about 3 years old.

Could it just be that they are both in the midst of their estrus cycles?

No, just let them squabble it out. As long as they can both eat and drink fine, and there is no blood shed, do not separate. Separation would just stress them out more. If they are in the midst of their estrus cycle, they should be fine in a day or day and a half tops.

Maybe just some extra floortime then today...more room to run and get away from each other if needed. Thanks!

From what I have seen the rule of guinea pig fighting is as long as there is no injury and each pig can still eat and drink your better off just to let them sort it out themselves.
