OMG poor little one. I can see that he has gone from rag to riches. He looks like a baby or is that only because he is so skinny. Good for you for rescue him.

Poor little Dominic. He looks so much better than when he was first dropped off. Good for you to care for him and the others and make them better. He's so cute and I'm wishing a full recovery. I hope that lady gets shut down and the SPCA will take all her piggies and treat them well. Please keep us updated on his process!

We've been thinking that he must not be very old at all, so I do think he is probably only around 3 - 5 months but, really, we don't know.

To anyone who has read this thread. I am sorry for my post this morning. We are trying to do something, but we just don't have the authority to do what we'd really like to do.

Just to update, this morning I did send an email to a lady I know who works at the SPCA, she has replied saying she has forwarded it onto someone else and has given me a phone number to call as she does say that they would be able to advise/help a lot faster by phone.


If anything does, or does not happen. I will post it on this thread.

Thats a really bad case of Mites there, how could that lady not have noticed it! Obviously she does not check the condition of their coats on a regular basis or she would have seen it before it got that bad. Or maybe she didn't care? Did she just drop it off for treatment or does she expect you to rehome him? Just don't give him back if she asks. Good luck I really hope that you get it all sorted out for the sake of the guinea pigs.

@animalmadlover - It's a rather tricky situation with his old owner, the SPCA has been informed. Dominic will not be going back to her. He will be paired up with another guinea and put up for adoption.

How is Dominic? I'm so late reading this thread but I'm glad I did. I was thinking during this thread at the part where you said ' need a strong but kind name' and i instantly thought of Faith. Dominic reminds me so much of my Mousey although Dominic isnt a crested! I feel so bad about his back leg.. Does it hurt him? I hope this woman stops and realizes what she is doing... He's a beautiful boy and what camera are you using? Its got a nice aim!

Camera's battery had charged enough to be able to let me take a couple more pictures...
His white back leg is the one which may of possibly been broken at some, his grey back leg is the one which has an infected toe..although I had him sit with his foot in salty water a couple of days ago and the redness has gone down..
