I adopted a rescue Guineapig about a month ago now. They told us she was pregnant with a red eyed abbysinian boar; She is a himalayen red eyes rex sow. What will the babies look like?

There's absolutely no way to know. Babies could look exactly like either parent, or more likely, a mixture of both.

Do be sure to be ready for the pups. You don't need to separate the mom from other sows if you've got a large enough cage for the sows and the pups, but a crowded cage will cause the pups ears to be nibbled. Also, make sure the pups can't escape through the cage walls or get their heads hung in the grid spaces.

Yeah, we have a few other sows in with her but they will be fine. The gris spaces are to small for heads dont worry.

We are expecting them in a week or two now. Can the pups drink from water bottles?

Unless the grids are only about a centimeter across, you will find that the babies can get through the cage grids very very easily. The best suggestion I can give you is to buy a bunch of binder clips, and cut strips of cardboard at least 6 in high to line the inside of the cage with. Secure the cardboard to the cage grids with the binder clips. If you are using the same grids that we all use trust me you will lose those babies very very quickly.

If you're using a C&C cage, the babies can definitely get through the holes.

The pups will learn to drink from water bottles if the mom does.

The grids are smaller than a babies finger nail so I am certain no babies will get there heads stuck :)
