Well as some of you may know my two girls recently passed away, may they rest in peace. I was looking on gumtree when I saw an add asking for donations of any kind, shape or form that could help out their animals. This add belonged to a rescue called The Animal Rescue Angels. Of course I emailed them saying I had some hay and pellets to which they replied they would love to have them. I found out they have one little piggy called whiskey.
Here is his pic: (broken link removed)
If he is right for me I would wait for my new food to come; Oxbow Cavy Cuisine and Oxbow Timothy Hay Or Orchard - Haven't decided. If I do get him, I will find him another rescue guinea pig. What does everyone think? I'm ready to enter the world of owning piggies again this time with the correct info. :)

Sadly your picture didn't show. :'( however, his name is so cute! :D I feel that if you are ready for the commitment, go right a head! Males need more space and a tad more hygiene care but other than that, congrats! :)

He is adorable! Also, could you link me to the Animal Rescue Angels? I would be glad to make a donation myself.

It looks like he has a head tilt, check up on that before deciding, you don't want to get your heart broken again :( However, I'm a sucker for love-at-first-sight when it comes to piggies - go for it!

You do plan on keeping him indoors. Is that right?

A guinea pig can live a full and happy life with a head tilt. The important thing is to see if it has an inner ear infection and treat it. The fact this guinea pig is housed in a rescue tells me that it's probably been treated by a vet but it doesn't hurt to ask those questions when adopting.

I'm a big believer in things being meant to be. The very day Borat died, I called the local Petco to see if they worked with a small animal rescue (I thought I'd seen a rabbit rescue there, but it turns out that was at Petsmart). They said a lady had called and was coming later to dump off her unwanted piggy. We needed a girl, and that's what it turned out to be, so that's how we got our Quinn.

I can see why that rescue piggy has melted your heart. Just be sure you have the indoor habitat all set up before you bring him home.

Very cute! And pig-nappably heart melting! It's nice to hear that you're prepared to do the research, take good care of him, and find him a friend. Perhaps they have a piggie dating service at the rescue?

Thanks everyone who has replied and for the people who are asking about whether he would be kept inside it's a yes, however the only agreement i've come to with my parents so far is he is allowed to stay inside during the months of December, January and February (our summer) but on the 1st of March he must go outside. Ok outside yes yes I know, not the best environment but he is going to be kept on the back wall of our 3 sided patio were he will be able to avoid the cold in Winter. He is going to be housed on fleece in a hutch that I have found that is about as big as a 2x5. He will have cuddle cups, sacks, etc a new and improved diet of Oxbow Cavy Cuisine and Hay with plenty of veggies plus i'll get him a friend. This is the best I can offer him so far and to me it's better then staying in a rescue as an only pig plus he will have access to a vet anytime he needs. :) Please is there anything I can do to make his life happier besides staying inside for the other 9 months of the year. Here in Australia it doesn't get that cold and if there did happen to be a storm with thunder and lightning he would be inside straight away. So over all he will be protected from the elements, have a good diet, large cage and a friend. I'll let you all know about how everything goes plus when my room gets re done there is a slight chance he will be able to move into a c&c cage inside all year.

If I make a well structured c&c cage that is extremely neat and organised I can most likely keep him inside all year as the reason I can't is because they don't want to have a "messy cage in their nice clean house" apparently it's "out of place". Who has really good neat cages that blend with rooms

Hi @Piggies010 I have a cage that blends in with my hall where my piggies live. It's still not totally finished as I am still looking for a varnish/paint for the wood to make it the same colour as the wood in the room, but all my fleece etc matches the colours of the room. It's also more like furniture than a cage and many people don't even realise my piggies live there at a first glance! There are some pics on my profile page. Please feel free to have a look!

I have a teddy boar too... and I adore him!! He is the cutest and cuddliest little man ever! He loves his chin rubbed! Good Luck! :)

I didn't know that! That's great :)
