I bought two female guinea pigs a month ago and it turns out one was pregnant. She just surprised us with babies this week. I thought it prudent to buy a second cage for the other female and have done so. I also confirmed the adults are both female, lol!

However, the separated guinea pig is not happy about this arrangement and is crying a lot. I can put the two cages together to create one large cage, but I worry she might become aggressive toward the babies or something?

Any advice is helpful! :)

There's no need to separate the other female unless she's the one in ten thousand sows that doesn't like pups. Just make sure the cage is large enough for all of them, as the pups may get their ears nibbled if it's not.
