I'm slowly moving along with making two cages for my soon to be 5 cavies ~ one for the females and one for the males. I'm having a hard time figuring out where to put both cages as I only a folding table big enough for one (perfect fit too). Does anyone stack their cages? How do you get the top one to not fall off? Also, how do you clean the bottom one?

I keep reading that a 2x5 cage is perfect for two males. It looks kind've big to me. Would a 2x4 cage work just as well or would I be taking a chance with it? The females will be in a 2x5 cage as there are three of them.

I can't answer the stacking question, but a 2x4 is the recommended size for 2 males.

Zip tie, zip tie, zip tie. Zip tie the top to the bottom, then make the fronts to either lift up or drop down to get in to clean. The gallery section on doors has some real good pictures of this type of door.
