I rescued a male pig I found on Craigslist. The owner "no longer had time," and thought he was a she. A petstore pig. Never had hay or veggies before in his life.
My brother came up with his name, Gip: pig spelled backwards. We thought and thought of other names, but Gip just seemed to fit.
He is my sweetest pig of all. The loudest, as well. He's a people pig, and wheeks when I come in the room, runs up to wherever I am, and whistles when I leave. Loves to be cuddled and scratched under the chin. He loves to just talk. Truly a blessing that we have him.
The vet said he might be a Peruvian, and since he was being fed crap food (Hartz pellets, but mostly treats), his hair might have stopped growing, and will grow now that he's on a healthy diet.
Here he is, the gorgeous boy.
