    Conditions Poops look pinched?

I haven't seen them nibbling on them. I suppose they could be stepping on them, but it doesn't look like poo that's been stepped on, like it's not squashed or anything, and almost all of their poop is like that. It just looks like a normal poop, but it tapers off at the end like it's been pinched.

    General Bedding

I used aspen bedding mixed with Carefresh. I only used this for 2 weeks though, and then I switched to fleece. I just put in an even layer of the mixture into the coroplast. It didn't smell, but my pigs kept kicking out their bedding and it was just too messy for me so I then quickly switched to...

    Conditions Poops look pinched?

I've noticed recently that my pigs' poop looks pinched on the end. What could be causing this? Other than that, their poop looks normal, it's not squishy or anything. Also they are pooping the same amount as they usually do. Both my pigs seem fine other than that, they're eating normally...

    What breed? Breeds/Varieties

I've never seen any satins in person before, so I had nothing to compare them to, but thanks for sharing that info!

C&C Alternatives DIY pool cage work?

Not quite a teen, I am 22 :) And @Lauraminx makes a good point. But I understand about the back pain. I actually used to just kneel on my knees to clean, so I had no back troubles. I now have a stand for my cage, but that was just to make some storage room. But yes, also take into consideration...

C&C Alternatives DIY pool cage work?

You actually don't need to make a bottom with grids. I have a 2X4 cage and that uses 12 grids, so a 2X5 would need 14 grids. If you want to make a bottom, you will need more grids. I used to have my coroplast base on the floor, and my grids around the outside of it. Now I have my cage raised, so...

C&C Alternatives DIY pool cage work?

@Cheerfulangel2 I have those same grids from bed bath and beyond. Just one box of those would be more than enough to make a 2X5. The box comes with connectors so you can use those, or you can get zip ties and connect it that way as well which will make it even more sturdy. You can get zip ties...

C&C Alternatives DIY pool cage work?

It really isn't hard to make a C&C cage, trust me. I'm really bad at making anything, and I was able to do this myself. You just have to measure, and double measure to make sure you're cutting the right amount. I used a video on youtube to guide me through it. The hardest part of making the cage...

looking to adopt a male HOUSTON

I had to fill out a questionnaire before I adopted my pigs, and it asked a lot of questions like that, and more. They need to know that whoever is taking their animals has the means to provide proper care. And I had to sign a contract too.

    What breed? Breeds/Varieties

These are my two girls. Tina is the one with more white, French Fry is the other pig. Another picture of Tina. A close up of Tina's face. And this is French Fry. I'm pretty sure they are American, but I was also thinking they may be satins? They are sisters. I would love to know what...

looking to adopt a male HOUSTON

You really shouldn't keep male and female guinea pigs together unless you are planning on neutering the male. It's very hard on guinea pigs to be pregnant and go through labor. If you really want a boy, maybe you would consider getting the boy neutered so he can live with the girls and there...

    Need Help

My pigs eat their veggies within like 5 minutes too and I am constantly refilling hay because they just love it, and water because its pretty hot right now. Sounds normal to me for a pig, but to be safe weighing is your best option right now. Hopefully she's not pregnant and just has a bigger...

Bonding Im just not sure my guinea pigs are getting along.

Something similar happened to my girls. I adopted them from a rescue and they were already a bonded pair, but after a few days one of my girls, French Fry, started rumblestrutting all the time, and really freaked out my other girl, Tina. For a while Tina was terrified of French Fry although they...

Cleaning Do you have a problem with static?

I hang dry my fleece, which works well for me because it gets any smell out of my fleece and it doesn't cause static, plus fleece dries so quick I hardly have to leave it hanging for very long.
