So I have two guinea pigs (Both female) and in a few months one will be 7 years old, the other one is almost 2 years old. I don't want the 2 year old to be alone at all so I'm planing to get another guinea pig before the older pig passes.

I was wondering what I should pay attention to with my 7 year old so I know when to adopt another guinea pig.

If I were you, I'd wait until the older one is gone to get a new one. Yes, the younger one will be alone for a few days. But if you get one now, you're going to stress a very senior pig with introductions, and that's probably much more stress for her than a few days alone for the young one would be.
