Play Safe toys?

I have a 6 month old guinea pig and I think she's getting bored. What are some safe toys to give her?

In my experience, guinea pigs don't really "play" very much...they like to explore, chew, and sleep.

The most important "toy" you can give your guinea pig is a same-sex buddy. You can bring her to a small animal rescue or humane society and introduce her to potential female friends in a neutral area. You should also make sure that she (and any future friend) have plenty of space. Follow the guidelines on the homepage of this site: www.guineapigcages.com. My guinea pigs truly became different pigs when I upgraded their cage to a 2x4. They love the space and they are so happy. If you aren't able to make your own C&C cage, you can order them online.

Make sure your guinea pig is getting an unlimited amount of fresh, soft, green hay such as Timothy or orchard grass. I prefer orchard grass. You can get high-quality hay at hay farms, feed shops, or online at (broken link removed). I like to give my guinea pigs plenty of hiding houses to check out -- I have cuddle cups, tunnels, huts, and sleeping bags from various online businesses like (broken link removed) and www.etsy.com/shop/Piggiepopshop and https://www.guineapigmarket.com/hidey-houses. Mine love to run through use oatmeal tubes. You could put some hay in a brown paper bag and cut a few small holes in it and have her tear it apart to get to the hay. Some people give their guinea pigs willow balls or willow tunnels to chew on.
