General re-nameing piggies

I just adopted three piggies. I absolutely adore them and are nuts already. I also hate with a sever passion their names. The are all at least 2yrs old.

Sherry-sow
Reeses-sow (named after the peanut butter cup!)
Pieces- boar (Reeses son....inventive huh?)

Could I re-name them? They were not played with very much with thier former owners and don't respond to their current names.

I renamed my pigges after I got them (though they were still babies at the time). If they don't recognize their names, I don't think they're going to care much. And yes, post some pictures (if only for the cuteness factor ).

I renamed one of my boys. Just keep saying his new name until he gets used to it.

Thank you all for the reply's. I have all ready been bitten by the love bug for these little ones.
As for the idea of re-naming them, I have used their names maybe three times in the past 24hrs....I keep calling the "The hermies, I mean the piggies." or Hermit crab this... (I am also obsessed with hermit crabs and have been for years.) Soon there shall be pics up of the little piggies.

Heh, I do that, too. I have tried, but my pigs do not respond to their names. They snap to attention when I whistle, beg when I rattle the veggie bag, and seem to listen when talked to in a kind tone, but leave when the kids screech. I do not think your piggies would mind new names.

I just re-named two of my guinea pigs.

We hardly ever call our pigs by the original names we gave them!

They all have at least 5 or 6 nicknames each, so they don't know what their real names are anyway.

Their given names are only used for GP forums and vet visits.
