Two females. Yeah I like buying stuff for my fish tanks so i hope this is as good. If its like shopping for my hamster it should be. Plus i have a 100$ gift certificate so it will be even better. I also have a 40$ gift certificate to another pet store so ican get a bunch of piggy stuff for free.

I just spent 100$ on guinea pig stuff. I still have 1$ left on the gift card. I got one play pen thing, two food crock things(they are heavy), two water bottles, a giant igloo, and a house, and two hay racks. I just grabbed anything i saw that i needed. I still have 41$ to use. I can get bedding and food. I also looked at the guoinea pigs at petsmart and they all looked good.

Good idea! I told them it would be a bit bigger than our previous cage, but well... I just failed to mention the three levels, extra storage... =)

Haha. Just finished extending it. It is now 2x4 with a 1x4 L second level. I ran out of ties so i need to get some more just to be extra safe( everything is tied at least 3 times). And i need to get some PVC pipe for support maybe. It looks bigger though because my pigloo is so huge.

Well my mom noticed. I have to now shrink it back down to 2*3. It shouls still give them plenty of room though. I am hoping to get them soon. I still have to buy some chloroplast buti havent been to home depot yet so i am hoping they carry it. I have PVC pipe though to use as support. The humane society near me also has one female guinea pig, i saw it on their website, maybe if they still ahve it by the time im done my cage i can get one from there and if they have another female there i would get it but i may have to get one form my pet store.

Awww... do you have enough room for an upper level at least? That's not taking up more space. Good luck!

Oh, ok. That sounds better, not that a 2x3 isn't good. Much better than a petstore cage! Thanks for the update.

I have a question about ramps. Do you just put carpet on top of it? Could you use a towel? Can the carpet have that rubber backing on it like some smaller carpets do so the dont slip? Thanks again.

I use a bathmat with rubber backing, yep. I folded the mat in half so that the edges were in back, and pinned that to the grids with safety pins for security.

Ok thanks. I got my coroplast yesterday and am working on making my floors. I got the bottom done, but the top i made to big, so im cutting it down a bit. I was just wondering for a ramp could you like fold a piece of coroplast in half so that it is doulbe thick and then on the top one just cut slots in it to use as a ramp.

Or you could just use a couple of grids as ramps, and then you could wave hay through them or whatever.

We were supposed to go to a guinea pig resuce "pig-nic" on Sunday to visit their adpotable pigs and apply for one, but the person in charge has been ill and might not bring the piggers at all now, so I'm not sure if we should still go and be seen and "interviewed" or just wait. The place is 45 min to one hour away. It kind of seems like a waste of time if we can't even see what they have available. Still trying to decide.
