Hi!

We are new here and just got our cage ready to move into tonight. It's a 2x4 work in progress. It's not finished yet but I was too excited and had to more Daisy and Jackie in it. How does it look? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

It looks like it's on the floor. Are you planning to get a table for better reach? It can be really hard on human backs to have a cage on the floor. ;)

My cage is about the same size too. I'll post it after it's cleaned.

Found this one in the gallery.

I LOVE this! I am getting my first C&C cage in this Friday, but I've got a standard store cage now. It's about 4ft long by 1 1/2 ft wide, but I could totally use this idea to make another upper level! I'm so excited for my cage to come in. It'll be 2x6 with a 2x2 loft. Still haven't decided where to put it! But all of these posts are such great ideas!!

@alblaylock from personal experience, you may find it easier to poke half of the 2x2 kitchen out of the cage. I mean, you have a full 2x2, but half of it is sticking outside of the cage. For support, use a grid underneath the two grids poking out, and zip tie it, by making one end attached to the base, the other to the outside kitchen grids. This will provide tension so you'll have support. Hope this helped and sorry if you don't understand, there's a thread on here somewhere lol.

IMG_0057.jpgIMG_0058.jpgIMG_0059.jpgThis is my 2x6. I made a bunk bed and fleece forest. I also did a 2x1 loft with a ramp.

Finally got around to uploading my photos. My boys' cage isn't really that impressive, but I like to put blankets on the sides to use as tents for the pigs. They love those and will hide in them for hours. They're doing it right now. :)

I'm hoping to get a bigger cage soon, but we need a bigger table to go along with it. I would like to have a 2x5 instead with a loft insluded, but the table we use just barely holds a 2x4 - small parts of the cage hang off the ends but they're zip-tied with grids so it doesn't tip.

Also, we never open those doors behind the cage. They may as well be a wall for all the use they get as doors.

Hello! I've been away for quite a while, moving and finishing teachers college, but the boys got an upgrade out of it, and I was too excited not to share! They are in an 8x2 alternative cage, made out of a heavy duty garage storage unit (put it side by side rather than on top of each other). It has plexiglass on the front and one side, cubes on one end (for the hay rack and water bottles), and then closet shelves as the back :) We are quite pleased with how it ended up! We have a bunch of fleece items and snuggle toys in there, as Robin Hood and Little John both like to sleep on or with stuffed animals. Hope you all like it! Oh, and it is for two boars, one is 2 and the other is 6 months old.

That cage looks great! And plenty of storage space below it. What's the little door behind the cage lead to? I've never seen a little door in a house.

Thanks!
And that's our closet under the stairs! We store things like Christmas decorations and Halloween stuff in there - so thankfully we rarely ever need to go in there

I need that magical kitchen box! My pigs LOVE to shoot the Yesterday's News all over the place when they bolt out due to being startled (and since they are quite new to us, this happens pretty much all the time) and I am constantly sweeping the kitchen floor to get the little pellets up. It was so much worse with CareFresh (have grown to hate that stuff for several reasons, but man does it stick to fleece!) but it is still a pain. Where did you find that box? Do they have different sizes? I don't know if I could have that literal one because I have coroplast lining my cage, so I don't think it would fit, but I want something just like that!

It's actually an old pet store cage that I converted into a kitchen–ramp and all. But you could buy one of those short-edged storage bins, that still have a higher lip like a pet store cage, but they're cheap, and they come in multiple sizes.

lol xD I feel like I only take pictures of the cage when this specific fleece is being used... I really do have more styles than just zebra print, I promise!
But I got their new kitchen in :) I'm really, really loving it.

Most of the piggies are in the photo, except 'Kandi' is off hiding somewhere. The three baby girls are going to their new home on Saturday! So soon this space will just be for Mama (Emma) and Auntie (Ella). The cage is going to seem so empty without them! </3

My guinea's room!
In the 4x7-ish is my herd of 6 girls - Trixie, Gigi, Pixie, Buttercup, Jasmin & Claci- and de-sexed boy Pluto.
In the top 2x5 is my male pair - Bubbles and Ron
In the bottom 2x5 currently has Darla, Deka, Dede, Delta and Dot but once Deka & Dot are 3 weeks old they will be going out to a foster home. Which will give Darla, Dede & Delta the 2x5.
