Bedding Hemp Bedding

How safe is Hemp Bedding? I was given some when I got Spike as well as some yesterday's news. She always mixed the 2 together however there wasn't much of the yesterday's news left so I've had to use mostly hemp. How safe is it? Also with my allergy to sawdust, how safe is it for that? I'm not sure exactly what hemp is. Time to Google! lol

I haven't heard of hemp bedding (for critters) but now I'm very interested

I'm not sure about hemp but you'd never want to use sawdust because it's too dusty and contains oils. If you use wood shavings, they need to be flaky and kiln dried since the aromatic oils in woods are dangerous to them.

I wouldn't use sawdust. Even wood shavings irritate my allergies.
But are a couple pictures of the clean cage. I have a little bit of fleece so I'm using it for his box to give him something softer to lay on. He's already kinda bunched it to make it more comfortable for himself. Used a Coca-Cola box for a temporary house. It's open the front and one side

Hemp is the stuff rope is made out of. It should be ok as long as it isn't smelling like it has volatile oils in it.
