Behavior Guinea Pig past 72 days being pregnant... Pups are here!

My girl is pregnant and I know the date she got pregnant. Yesterday was her 72 day due date and she still hasn't given birth. She is still moving about, still eating and drinking. Just wondering at what point do I need to be concerned?

72 days is an average, not the exact time that a pig will be pregnant. Some will deliver earlier, some later. As long as she's still active, and is still eating and drinking, just be patient.

Sorry, a lot had gone on today, she had 3 but only 2 survived. I think they are girls. I will post some pictures in a bit. I had to go to at tire place after her giving birth and then my car's engine check light came on and it might be an expensive fix, the car is a 2013 and I'm shocked I'm getting this code already.

I'm actually surprised at the coloring of the babies. The mom is like a brindle or tortoishell *sp* and the dad was grey and white with red eyes, one baby came out almost all black with some brown and the other is a weird but cute brown/grey mix. Again will post pics soon.

Make sure dad is separated from mom and please do not breed.

Dad is separated. However he has proven wrong that Guinea pigs don't jump and don't jump high. One morning I heard a noise before getting up out of bed, when I did get up he was out of the cage and near the females cage. He jumped out. I have seen him jump to the top of the cage before this. He almost made it over that time too. I think he hurt himself the last time, he hasn't tried it since. No breeding.

Guinea pigs are capable of more than we think when they really want something, and no pig wants something more than a boar trying to get to a sow. That's why it's important to put a lid on the sow's cage, it's physically impossible for him to lift one up and wiggle under it.
