I?m at a loss! My piggie has been coughing for a few weeks now, I?d even guess up to a month. He has no other symptoms, but we brought him to the vet anyway. He seemed healthy to them but was put on an antibiotic to be safe. I don?t remember the name. We just finished it, and hadn?t heard him cough for awhile. We just heard it today. He?s eating well, drinking well, and is currently playing and popcorning outside of his cage. I?m wondering if he does just eat too fast, and he has to cough since he can?t vomit? I gave him treats in the playpen and they?re gone now. Should I still be worried about him?

Is he mostly coughing after eating? If so, he may well be eating too fast.

Or are you cutting his food in very small pieces? I think that makes the possibility of coughing/choking worse, because there are so many opportunties for choking. For mine, I cut food into just enough pieces so that every pig gets a chance at one. That way they don't face a small piece until they get to the very end.
