Hello. I'm taking a guinea pig from a bad situation and the cage she is in is way too small. I'm looking to build a C&C cage but have very limited space. What would be the smallest I could go, but still be acceptable?
The guinea pig is a female about about a year old. Thanks!

2x3 is the smallest recommended size.
But if there is any way for you to move things around to make a bit more space for this precious girl, do build a 2x4.
That way, you won't need to expand when you adopt her a friend either.

See if you can rearrange furniture and then play around with grids to see the biggest size you can make.
2x3 grids is the smallest, but if you're getting another pig (If you only have one, it's recommended) you should make a 2x4 or 2x5.

I didnt think I had enough room for even a 2x3 cage, but when I moved a dresser and put my keyboard under a bed, I was able to make a 2x4 cage for my two girls with room to expand once I get more connectors.

Yes, I agree do move things around to accomadate the cage. You could even build it up tall to go over a dresser or tv ect.
