This is not a picture of a guinea pig. Its a hamster. It is ok to pick hamster up like that (to see stomach or to sex them). There isn't anything wrong with it- at all.
Although the debate is not heated, I think some object to the graphic nature of the original picture. Personally, I think it is photoshoped and not in the least bit a problem.
