One thing I consistently find, is that they love variety. I change their tunnels and hidey houses around. Sometimes I have a corner tent set using a fleece blanket. They get so excited and run around exploring their new layout.
I don't use coroplast, just a shower curtain, towels, then fleece over that. I sit the cage on top, then using big paper clips, pull the shower curtain and fleece up the sides a bit and attach with the paper clips. When I need to clean it, (once a week) I move the GP's to their play area, lift...
I hired a girl to come in once a day this last trip we took. I prepackaged the veggies with the days of the week written on them. They did fine. Although I wonder if they knew something was different because they both seemed a little depressed for a few days after we got back. I don't know...
I asked just out of curiosity, about the diet drinks. I have had friends drinking them who developed some weird symptoms that stopped when they stopped drinking the diet sodas.
Another reason to have a neat house is that you deserve it. I battle organization constantly, which is why I...
We switched to fleece months ago and I have never looked back. They seem so much happier. And it is just so much neater. Easy to pick up poops (I use a little scooper thing) I change the fleece and towels out weekly, but pick up poop daily. The only smell really for us is the grassy smell of...
Thanks. He had me so worried yesterday. My daughter is his caretaker, and a darn good one, but if something happens to him, we will be devastated. Can they get "attached" to people. I question that, but he really does seem to miss it when we aren't cuddling him. He goes so limp when we...
I agree, Piggynovice, I did everything wrong in the beginning. We knew something wasn't right, though, when we just watched Buddy doing nothing but hiding in his plastic hidey inside a tiny cage. We would let him run around my daughter's room every night, and he was happy. We would put him...
While being put back down in the cage, wrangled out and landed funny. It wasn't even a far drop, just hit it wrong. He is doing very well. He is back to himself this morning, I am so happy to report. He is lively again. Like I said before, he is pretty laid back. He does love to be petted...
We used to travel to Australia when I was a kid, and my Mom still calls a cooler an Esky! Great memories you brought back! And great idea, I will try it!
He is on antibiotic, and he is acting more like himself again, a few hours later. I always thought that giving vegetables every day would take the place of a vit c supplement, but started to get worried when he is acting so un "Buddy" like. He isn't the most active guy, and is pretty laid...
No, not to put in water, just to give by mouth. I bought some chewables today, and am wondering if they are safe. I am concerned about Buddy, there doesn't seem anything very obvious like water eyes or coughing, just lethargic. He has been to the vet, and she is treating him with Zythromax...

If you have a C&C, could you bring a small version of it for them? If you zip tie them together they fold up flat. Bring some towels and fleece blankets and you are good to go? I am going out of town for Christmas, and am wondering if it's better to bring them with us, or to hire someone to...
I have some bent grids that I cover with a towel or piece of cloth and attach with binder paper clips. They love them. I line them up next to each other and they run in and out of them. (I have a play/run area attached to their main cage. 12 grids that form a circle)
Okay, now my cage looks nothing like this one! It is one level, 3x3 with another 3x5 play area attached to a corner, which they enter through a tunnel. They are so happy in it!
