The 4 grids at the top are only connected with connectors and not with zip ties. All I had to do was take down the grids at the top and then I had full access to the piggies.
I am just sending an update regarding my boys. The have been adopted by a wonderful couple who I am pretty sure will take care of them just as well as I was able to and maybe even better. They have way more space than I had to offer my piggies and they will now have a lot more room for floor space.

@ Akstrohm: Thanks for the info regarding the hay. I never withhold hay from my piggies. I only did it that time because I was trying to figure out if the hay was triggering the asthma or my piggie babies.

Having 2 piggies is hardly any different from having 1 piggie. Adopt a pair. That's the right thing to do. If you can not afford to properly care for them then leave them be. It wouldn't be right or fair to them. I hope you make the right decision.
You should take her to a vet and get her checked for mites. It's not always the case but I think you would want to be certain. I got my first 2 piggies from petco and neither had mites or any infections. I guess I was lucky. I would get them checked just to be sure. My girl bit my son once.all...
Although you did what you had to do to get treatment for your piggies you should still research exotic vets and find one that is knowledgeable about guinea pigs and that would be better suited to diagnose and treat your piggies. I wish you all the best with your piggie babies.
