I love your cage and your fleece but i have heard that those sticks on the wall and that tunnel are actually not healthy for small pets and are sugary, wich can cause diabetes but you could always let them nibble on it every once and awhile

Oh really? I've heard of that. Hmm they don't nibble on it a lot though, they mostly just use it as a hidey place for when they get scared while they're eating.

Awesome!! I that a PVC pipe supporting the loft?
Yep! I just bought one at Home Depot and had it cut to the right length.

Cool! For some reason I never thought of that...oh well I know now! Haha

I'm so ready to upgrade my cage! I can't wait to go from my 2x5 to a 2x5 with a ramp down to a 2x6!

Waiting for the right two bonded sows in our area. Here's how we've been passing the time!

Newbie here, so veteran advice welcome!

Let's see your cage Pictures please.

Floor time set up with extra grids & a view of the slid-out kitchen (fleece, food, hay, and toys when G-pigs are home) (H2O bottle hooks on right side when in cage, and I think it's too big for youngins?)

I'm going to post more detailed photos in the Gallery soon. ❤️ TY ❤️ all for sharing your photos & experiences, I learned so much!

That has to be one of the most awesome small and enclosed cages I've seen.
I usually don't like small enclosed cages, but I love yours! Does the kitchen level have access to the outside ramp as well? I would recommend 2 areas for hay, pellets and water. It's nice to have something extra to go to when the dish, bottle or rack is taken up.

@(broken link removed)your grids on the back are 5 squares which are the dangerous ones because their heads can get stuck in them. (I don't know what is going on with the text color I can't get it to change back for some reason.)

Anyways for the last 3 days I've been working in a youtube video of all the different cages I have made over the years. Here is the link:

wow you had alot of piggies

@Onetwo : wow your guinea pig habitat has really evolved over the years.. your piggies are soo cute!

Everyones cages look great! I have definitely learned alot from this forum and gotten lots of great ideas :) Thank you!! :)

this is a picture of the tiny cage my bunnies has to stay in for 2 weeks after the nueter :(
If your wondering why there are 2 bunnies in there is because i let them be in togther ( not after nueter this was ans still is before) because since jubejube ( hes black and white) needs to be nueterd ( hes going for surgery on tues) they dont get to cuddle so i put king in there for a while to cuddle and this is what i found :

sorry my bunny** has to stay in there NOT both

@(broken link removed) I am in LOVE with your cage. Where did you get that fleece? I want it! Is the whole top a fleece forest? I love how you made it out of multiple colors but they all match with the pattern! I would LOVE to live there!

Xinaa & MrWhistles, TY! $5/yd fleece from Joann Fabric, I purchased only 3 yards and have leftovers. I sewed the Fleece Forest pieces to some scrap stabilizer I had (I'm a use-what-you-have kinda gal.) Each grid panel has it's own piece so the whole square piece can come off for laundering. I intended the kitchen floor to be max privacy for potty behavior, and the rest to be max visibility.

Good tip about the second hay and food areas for pairs-o-pigs. I will add another pellets bowl and do some thinking about the hay sitch. And yep, the kitchen floor is only accessed via the exterior ramp. TY again! Just soooooo grateful to this community!

@G_Piggler That cage is awesome! So neat and coordinated.

Is there a hammock in the top left corner?

@T1ggerPigLuvur, YES! That's a huge hammock, hopefully room for two! I put a smaller hammock in the loft. TY for your nice comments.

My latest and hopefully final configuration. The ramp is on the outside of the cage so i do not loose internal space and it makes cleaning it easier. Today i added a grid floor to the bottom of the cage so when i move the cage i do not have to remove the storage bins out of the way. I also added some casters so now i can roll it away from the wall for easy cleaning. All of the fleece is in the wash, I will post a picture with everything in it later.:)

@G_Piggler - how did you get the shelf part to stay up on the lower floor in the back (the part where the large hammock is)? I'd like to add something like that to our cage, but what did you use for support underneath the grids?

@Bruceb WOW! Now that's a beauty. The loooong back exterior ramp is bound to become the new standard, you just can't beat it. If you made those stylin' bins, could you share how? Thanks for the inspiration!
