Today I noticed Scribbles has a dent in his eye! It looks exactly like the ones my snakes get from low amounts of humidity--it makes a dent appear in their eye caps. I know guinea pigs don't have eye caps--so what does this mean? Did he experience an injury? When we first got him, one of his eyes was watering, shut 98% of the time, leaky, etc. and I put a damp washcloth on his eye before I was going to take him to the vet, the next day his eye looked fine and hasn't bothered him since.
That was the left eye; this dent is on his right.
What happened? What can I do? His eye isn't watery, closed, swollen, crusty, any of the warning signs other than it looks like someone took a microscopic scoop out of his cornea. :(
Photos: not the best quality, but you can see it:

Could be a hay poke. You can use artificial tears to wash the eye. But do keep a very close eye on it -- eye problems that get infected can result in the pig losing its eye.
