We've been using Fleece Flippers for about 5 months now, always washing the fleece separate from the u-haul. Is there some point when it all can just be washed together? I know originally it was kept separate because people had mentioned the u-haul pads had shred quite a bit, but does it continue to do that?

I started off with fleece flippers and besides the initial wash to get rid of the extra lint I have never washed the uhaul separately. I haven't had any problems with uhaul at all and just throw it in with my liners now.

If I understand you correctly, your fleece and uHaul are separate, vs. being sewn into liners?

The uHaul pads are not super durable and I doubt that the manufacturer meant for them to be washed very often. They are likely to continue to shed throughout their lifetime. This is reduced by encasing them in fleece, but even in sewn liners, the middle uHaul layer often wears out far sooner than the fleece. I know that my liners are worn out because they leak onto the incontinence pads under them.

This being said, I see no problem with washing them together.

Thanks for the responses. Yes, spy9doc, the fleece and uHaul are separate - it's the actual Fleece Flipper product that you can get at the GuineaPig "Fleece Store" (the sister site to the GuineaPigCages Store). From now on, I'll just start washing it all together - that's going to save me extra time, yay for that!
