Liners How does the GuineaDad fleece liner hold up?

If anyone has the GuineaDad fleece liner, please tell me if it is of good quality for the price. I am looking into buying one.

I recently bought 4 used ones and a ton of the potty pads from someone on Facebook. I have also bought them new. Aside from being a pain to learn how to wash and dry without it taking forever to dry, they've been okay. The used ones I bought look like they've been thru hell but they still absorb and do the job like my newer ones. They did shrink tho, but I don't know how the previous cared for them.

I am definitely not a fan of the pockets. My pigs don't use the pockets. I just checked the site and it looks like they do offer them w/o pockets now.

For the price, you could get handmade fleece liners from Etsy shops. Depending on the size and the design (plain vs a design) of the fleece, you could get a deal of something like 2 liners for $60 instead of one liner for $50 to 55.

I'd say it's hit or miss, depends what you want and if you can handle the price. They do the job, but the price and the long drying time can be a negative point.

do I need to put towels underneath them? That’s the main thing I am trying to stop. Also the burning under the fleece.

They're supposed to have waterproof backs, however I noticed some liquid still gets thru if it is an area of heavy use.

I've been using the GuineaDad (GD) liners since 2018, have four 2x4 liners, and generally am pleased with them. My main interest is the bamboo fiber absorbent layer which is higher quality than the liners that use uhaul blankets as the absorbent layer. The bamboo fiber does shrink. Be sure to wash it in cold water and dry away from any heat source. Initially I did not follow the instructions, hung them to dry in full sunlight, and my liners shrunk before I realized I wasn't drying them properly.

There have been some respiratory issues linked with the pocket. You can put a wooden bridge or the cute box in which the liner is packaged in to prop open the pocket so that there will be air flow. My piggies love to run in and out of the pocket. I put potty pads underneath the pocket and switch them out every 1-2 days.

There is a water proof layer at the bottom. If the liner is on coroplast, you just wipe off any leakage on the coroplast. My Etsy liners have more leakage than GD liners.

I don't know if the GD liner will prevent your pigs from burrowing underneath though. Initially the new liner will be larger than the cage floor so it will go up several inches of the cage and that will stop the burrowing. Eventually there will be shrinkage and hopefully your pigs will learn not to burrow by that point. You can also put bricks or rocks along the edge of the liner to prevent burrowing. You might also want to check out piggy bedspreads, as the fleece goes over the sides of the coroplast to prevent burrowing. The cost is similar to the GD liner.
