Introductions a new friend for my guinea pig?

Hello, this is my first post here. i hope i posted this in the right place!

I have two male guinea pigs age about 3 yrs and a half. one of them (Tom) has sadly passed away, I am wondering if the other guinea pig (Jerry) will need a friend? I believe he does because i understand that guinea pigs are very social animals. my question is what kind of guinea pig should I get?
Tom who passed away was the dominant. Jerry is very friendly and hyper, and he doesn't seem to be upset or anything. I am unsure if they are neutered or not, so I prefer another male. what do you think? and also what age should the new guinea pig be?

I'm sorry you lost your pig.

Jerry does need a friend. The best thing to do would be to find a guinea pig rescue that will let you bring Jerry to pick out his own buddy. The age won't really matter, but if the new pig is at least two, it may cut down on some of the non-stop humping that younger males do.

I see yes, I will get a new guinea pig whos at least 2 years old.
