General Guinea Pig keeps picking his scab and I don't know what to do

My pig had mites and I took him to the vet, where he underwent a 2 month treatment and got rid of them. However, the mites left some scabs and he won't allow them to heal (they are behind his ear which he frequently scratches). What should I do so he leaves them alone and allows the scabs to heal.

He's probably still got active mites there. It can take several treatments, each a week apart, to get rid of them.
