Chewing My girls ate through a towel

I have wrapped frozen bottles on an absorbant towel like fabric. It is like the sham wow I guess. I live in Texas and it gets very hot in my condo in the afternoon. My husband says 78 degrees is ok for my 2 girls, but I still put ice under their pads so they can keep cool. This morning I woke up and saw that they somehow got to the towel and chewed through it. I am worried about them now. I am including a picture of how much they ate. If anyone can help me out on this, I would be very grateful. Thank you so much!

Keep an eye on their food intake, poos and if their tummies bloat, see a vet as soon as you see it.

In MOST cases the piggies are fine but you always want to be safe.

Ok thank you! Should I give their fresh food as usual?

Thank you! Should I feed their fresh veggies as usual or do you think I should let the stuff pass? They still have pellets, hay and water of course..

Something to add: this "towel" is kinda like the uhaul pad inside ofmy girls' fleece bedding. It really doesn't swell when wet like maybe a puppy pad would. I am not sure if that make a difference or not.

I'd treat them like normal. You'll know within 72 hours if there is going to be an issue.

It still is an issue as it can block if they swallow big parts. Sometimes it can just pile up in the gut, there are lots of variables to eating things they shouldn't, but we love them and I hope yours will be a-ok.

Thank you..I do love them[emoji177] and I kick myself because I should have wrapped the ice pack in a fleece instead, but I have used this "towel" many times with no problems. It goes in the trash today..

Don't worry. I used the same stuff years ago and felt the same way but nothing bad happened, lets hope your piggies are the same. Keep us posted.

The good thing is that it's not a regular towel, so it won't unravel and you don't have to worry about strings. Still watch them though.
