New here! My daughters and I just finished a 2x4 C&C cage for our two young sows, Daisy and Poppy. We’ve had them one month since we rescued them and love them so much already. They love their new home too. :)

Hello Friends, I'm new here. I want to buy a new cage, please give me suggestions. Thanks a lot in advance.

Do you ever have any issues with bowing with the 3 grid span?

This is my girls 30 sq ft enclosure

Our latest upgrade for our babies. Both love going up the ramp. Their Zoomies include the ramps & lofts :)

My newest setup it's a 7x2.5 with multiple bedding types, I am going to add a little bit of fleece under their houses for more comfort

The front grids act as an accordion door for easier access as well using zip ties

There's a hole in the grids to the right so they can get to that closed off area, needed to put the grids as extra support for the lid

This is my guinea pig cage that I’m building! It’s almost finished I only need to screw on the door. It’s 5ft by 2.5 ft.

Oh my goodness, @teambenji543 that looks so good!

Thanks! I’m really surprised at how well it came out! Right now the piggies are happily popcorning and exploring their new cage!

The new piggie cage that my dad and I made together! It has waterproof linoleum on the floor, and waterproof walnut for the sides. There is also giant plexiglass windows, which I LOVE! There are holes made for the water bottles, and a little door for the pigs to come out for play time!

I’m really in love with it! It’s so much easier to clean out when the cage doesn’t have a top. Also, since the wood is waterproof, I just wipe it down every few days!

ARGGHH! I'm so jealous!

@teambenji543, that is one beautiful cage and the fleece is super cute! You and your dad did a great job.

I wish my piggy cage has a plexiglass window but I have the standard C&C cage. Lily has taken to biting on the bars all over the cage and she would not be able to bite them if it is all plexiglass. I put up some Guinea Pig Cage Pig-A-Boo plexiglass panels but Lily still squeezes into the one grid that doesn't have it and gnaws away.

My guinea pig is named Lily too! ( The black and white one) And spelled the same way!

This cage looks amazing! You should build and sell them online! I absolutley love the walnut color and the windows! :)

Thank you!! My dad is really into woodworking as a side hobby, and I’ve told him multiple times that he should open an Etsy shop. :)

The windows are also a bit funny, if I hold my finger against it, then my guinea pigs start licking the glass thinking that they’re licking my fingers.

They have my room floor basically haha only enough room for my chair, there’s also two old cages combined to the left That are connected to this so they can run and run! It’s 11ft long.

I was just wondering if anyone has built a cage with either an inset hay kitchen, kinda like a step down dining room, or a semi enclosed hay house on one end? I’m struggling with a new cage design.

Do you mean like the kitchens/covers this site sells? IMO, I didn't like it because the pigs had to jump over a little wall to get into the kitchen.

No, more like a shallow
Bin they would jump down into. I would cut an appropriate sized hole for bin the recess into the floor. Nothing super deep, just though it help with the dragging bedding and hay back up out onto the fleece.
