I think we are allowed to post links to photo bucket for picture. Anyway, we built Gizmo's 2x4 cage this past weekend! He loves it. You should have seen him running around laps in his cage last night. We will try to get video.

After builiding this cage now I can't believe how small pet store cages are! Here are the links for pictures, hope it works.

That is a really neat cage! Gizmo is sure a cutie as well! Now that you have the cage all don up, you may want to peruse the nutrition forums here as well :). The only sugestion I would have is an improvement on the hay rack. Gizmo should have access to hay 24/7 without much effort.

Thank you. I agree with you about the hayrack. The rack does not fit well on his new cage. Hay is available all the time. He eats alot of it!

I would suggest makeing a bent grid hayrack they are easy to kill and easy to get hay out of. I also think that you should seriously consider getting him a friend, guinea pigs are herd animals and do best and are happiest in pairs. Here is a link that explains further. https://www.cavyspirit.com/sociallife.htm
and Guinea Lynx :: Companionship . If you do decide to get him a friend, which would be best, get one from a guinea pig rescue or a humane society. (broken link removed)

Thats funny that you mentioned those tips. My husband just tried to bend a grid and one of the ends snapped. We do want to get him a friend and I found a piggy on petfinder, his name is teddy. We are taking Gizmo to vet tomorrow just to get him checked out.
