Has anyone created a C&C cage with a theme, or design?

I started building my 1st C&C cage. Its a 2x3 with a single grid 2nd level.

I was creating a support from a dowel for the one corner that wasn't connected to the side. The dowel hasn't been cut to size yet and is sticking up out of the cage ~ 2ft. And I swear it looks like the mast of a ship!

I'm thiniking of tapering the coroplast down on the sides of the cage to make the front and back look more like a Bow and Stern. Also I'll probably work on making the fold down access door to look more like a plank. I'll definately take pics once I'm done.

Has anyone else done anything like this?

I've decided that my C & C cage is going to have a wine theme. Wine is such a huge part of my life, and my piggers are all getting named after wineries. I'm going to decorate them with grape/wine themes. Not sure how it will turn out, but I'll let you know! :)

There are afew cc themed cages. I think it is alot of trouble and only good for the people with the artistic eye unlike me. Wine what an interesting theme, are you a wine tester? Or do you like getting drunk? If you don't mind me asking.

bromers,

I am 32 years old, and I sell wine. I think your question was quite inappropriate and rude, do be perfectly honest. I am a wine enthusiast, not a drunk.

Calm down Niki, Bromers is a sweet person and meant nothing by it (which is why she said "If you don't mind me asking"). It was just curiosity.

For anyone using lights or ornaments in themed cages, please be sure that you attach them in such a way that your pigs can't get hold of them. Themes and decorations are pretty, but I know from experience that pigs are crafty little devils that will try anything to pull new "toys" inside to sample with their mouths.

Well it looks like I'll be putting the final touches on my pirate ship tonight. As of now I've only cut the coroplast to resemble a ship, and the dowel doesn't look much like a mast yet.

I think I'll be adding some dowells to the mast to attach the sail to, and add a lookout basket as well as a jolly rodger flag to the top

the 1/2 level loft has been working out well. dasher is getting used to looking up there for his veggies. he's not using the ramp as much as I'd like him to. Since the loft doesn't have sides on it, he'll just stand on his hind legs and try to reach the veggies by stretching. I think I'll put in a Wood Ship Wheel there as a chew toy and to continue the theme.

I'll try to post pigtures tonight

Alrighty Here are the Pigtures

All the main stuff is up. I still need to accessorize with some portholes, cannons, as well as an Anchor, and the Jolly Roger isn't up yet. But those can be done at any time.

Wow excellent job! I really like the way you've designed your mast, very clever. By the way welcome to the forums as well!

If you would like to click this link there are many examples of C & C themed cages that may give you some ideas in the future and for other people to look at as well. Also it has safety tips and step by step guides to creating a theme cage:

I love it. It looks great. The only thing I would suggest is on the "bridge" part is to maybe slip some fleece or something on there insead of the bare coroplast. The cage looks totally awesome though.
