So, they live outdoors in the summer and will live in this cabin in the cold months? If I am not mistaken Highley is in the West Midlands. It gets below freezing in the winter and is cold and damp a lot of the time. You describe the cabin as a "summerhouse" which means it is probably not insulated. I don't think even with an electric heater you are going to be able to keep them comfortable.

We live in Northern California, where it does get cold around this time of year. We have a little space heater in the pig room/bedroom/office that sits in the middle of the room and can be turned on low at night.

The space heater works pretty well; it does not blow directly on the pigs and since someone is always in there, we can regulate the temperature as needed.
