I put and second level (kitchen) on my c&c cage, it has fleece with towel and puppy pads under it but within a day the fleece is wet and smells cause the towel is full of wee :( I've tried carefresh but they kick it out and it makes to much of a mess everywhere else. The bottom level can go a week before I have to change the fleece and towels
what does everyone else use in their kitchen area??

I have a similar problem with my second level but it's not even the kitchen area. It's their sleeping area. I have to change it every other day or every 2 days. Try using u-haul pads....it isn't quite as bad. Also, I've heard wood pellets work very well for kitchen areas.

If you like the scent of pine wood, then pine pellets are so fabulous for kitchens. If not then extra layers of uhaul will help but it's such as small area I found I have to change it every other day. I also use potty pads in the corners which I can change frequently. Before I had any kitchen I had a 1x2 loft. Which I loved because even though I had to clean it often it was very easy to clean. Then I added a pine pellet kitchen on the bottom level and they started hanging out in there most of the time so I can go several days for the ground level but with the kitchen downstairs their upstairs sleeping patio stays cleaner longer now too.

Pine pellets will give you another 2 or more days with the smell depending on how much they use it and how many pigs you have etc.

I went from no kitchen and a sleeping patio:

To a sleeping patio with a 1x2 kitchen under it:

to a sleeping patio with a 1.5x2 kitchen:

I agree with you, I can't stand care fresh. It stinks up so quickly and it gets everywhere. I tried doing pine pellets with care fresh on top and it was such a mess. I'm sticking with pine pellets. Nothing is better for controlling odors.
