My husband built Moose a house, She loves it, he cut a tree down at my parents house and then made her a house.

Oh yeah its safe we made sure before he put all that work into it, she acts like a building inspector, she walks around looking and sniffing haha

Oak is the wood type and he chopped it down himself, he used screws to hold it together, we also put it in the oven after it was finished to kill anything harmful it had on it, we put it in at 450 for an hour

Moose loves it she chews on it all of the time, Moose is only 11 inch long so we made ours to fit her, she is still a baby and hates a lot of room, we made it so that she had enough room to turn around in or stretch out.

I think the design and size depends on you and your piggy
