Introductions First time GP: boy or girl?

Looking into getting a GP for my son. Is there a difference in personalities or temperament or anything of that nature between male vs female guinea pigs? What would you recommend?

First, you need two, not one. They're herd animals, and do MUCH better with a friend of their own kind.

You'd have less drama and squabbling with sows -- boars in puberty are pretty randy. and the "boar stank" they emit can be unpleasantly smelly.
