Hi,

I have a four year old pig and I recently added a baby to the cage. I know the little one needs to have alfalfa based pellets and hay and the older one eats Timothy based food. Any suggestions on how to prevent my older pig from eating the baby's food? I don't think feeding them seperately is an option. The baby gets too scared to eat without company. =(

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thanks

The baby doesn't NEED alfalfa pellets. What it needs is extra calcium, which alfalfa pellets have. You can accomplish the same thing by supplementing it with a higher calcium veggie. Give the baby a couple of sprigs of parsley as a treat. That should do it.
