Rabbits Cypress wood for rabbits?

I have a huge cypress tree and we have recently had to chop down a few big branches and I was wondering if I could put a block of it in the rabbit's cage for something to hop up onto, but I'm not quite sure if it to safe for them and for them to chew

I don't know the full answer to that. I would err on the side of caution though and leave it out since cypress is in the same family as cedar.
