Its always a good idea to bring him in, just in case. Your vet will be able to tell you if there is some kind of cream or ointment that you can put on.

I think soft blankets would be a good idea.Hope he gets better quickly!

My Lucy mysteriously broke off her toenail quite a few months ago. It didn't seem to bother her so I just monitored it for signs of infection, etc. It was fine and eventually grew back though it's thicker and stubbier than her other nails.
