Hi all,

I live in the UK and i am the proud owner of two gorgeous boys, Richie and Eddie, who are nearly 1 year old!

I have them in a 2x4 C&C cage and i have a 1x2 loft where i keep their hay :)

Currently in the hay loft I use a towel, then newspaper, then the hay. It was fine at first, but more recently i have found it to become smelly!

Does anyone have any suggestions on what else i could use? Towels i think work great, it's just the combination of towel and newspaper.

I use towels then fleece for the rest of the cage, and that works great!

Many thanks for reading, apologies if this question is elsewhere, and thanks in advance! :)

A paper based cat litter or small animal bedding would be great. However, I find if you have bedding up there it gets dragged down the ramp and all over the fleece. You could also try unscented puppy pads under the towels, just make sure the pigs can't get to it. The puppy pads should do an excellent job soaking up the urine- preventing the smell.

They are normally fine, it's the hay that gets dragged down!! :)

Ok that's great, thanks for this :)
