Ok...I finally picked up some Miconazole Nitrate 2% cream from the drug store for Shelia's fungal infection. I went on Guinealynx.com to see how/where to apply it before putting it on. Before I put it on, I read the back of the tube out of curiosty. It read "For external use only. If ingested, contact Poison Control immediatly." I haven't applied any yet out of fear that Shelia might lick it - I noticed saliva on her fungal area about a week or so ago, so I know that either her or Brownie can reach the spot. What should I do? By the way, the fungal area is on her lower back and it's not an extreme case of fungus. Please help! Thanks everyone in advance!!

If it is on her back, you may want to do anti fungal baths with anti fungal shampoo rather than use the cream.

Are you sure it is fungus? Have you treated for mites yet in case?

I have not treated for mites, but I almost positive it's a fungal infection. I will though, just in case. Thanks so much rabbitsncavyluv, I didn't even think of shampoo!

I agree with R&Cluv, use the shampoo, then at least you know nobody is licking anybody/something else lol. Have you taken them to the vet at all for a check up?

PS: Is anti-fungal shampoo just as effective as the cream?
