Need to rehome 3 great girls ASAP

Hi everyone, I have three great girls I need to rehome. I have grandma piggie who is about 8 months old, daughter piggie who is about 5-6 months old, and grandbaby who is about 3 months old. They are amazing pigs! We've had them a few months now, and once placed on a lap they settle quickly...

Feet Does my guinea pig have a foot problem?

You're welcome! Does the bag of chips say kiln dried?

Loss of a pig and seeking advice.

Im so sorry for your loss, and please don't think I'm saying you can "replace" your beloved piggy. But have you thought of maybe getting Ralph another friend if he doesn't perk up soon? Some pigs will come around after losing their cagemate, and sometimes they just miss their buddy a bunch and...

Feet Does my guinea pig have a foot problem?

Ripshaw-- Welcome to the board!! Your pig could use a nail trim, but it sounds like you knew that already :) You could check a local animal shelter. Sometimes they'll do it for free. Ours does so it's nice between vet appointments. Also, go with your gut. Has the vet seen te nails or is the vet...

Sounds Teeth Chattering. What is he trying to say?

My oldest female did that for almost two weeks when we first brought her home (she has been through hell) whenever I went to pick her up. I just gave her space, talked to her very softly, hand fed veggies while she was still in the cage. Then we made a larger cage (the old one still met the...

Aggression My oldest piggy is picking on the youngest!!!

It's really hard to watch. I'm afraid they're just going to have it out one day and will never get along. I hate the idea of having to separate them. Baby has really gotten along quite well with buttercup. And of course buttercup and sweetpea are bonded so either way someone would be sad...

Aggression My oldest piggy is picking on the youngest!!!

Their cage is about 20 sq ft on the first level. They all have their own huts and everything. I think SweetPea is just a moody girl!! "my way or the Hwy" fits her quite well lol

C&C I need space saving ideas!!

If you could swing the 3x4 in your room easier than a 2x5 I would do it. If it saves you space thats awesome! If I did that math right it's also increasing the square footage of your cage. You'd have enough room in the cage at that point to get a litter box for your hay instead of the kitchen. :)

    Cage Looking at my options

I would just make a custom size c&c. Overlap or bend grids around the corners to make it the right width. You could always do a second level that way. We had ours done that way for a while aprox 2.5 grids wide we just bent them around the corners instead of overlapping but either way will work...

C&C I need space saving ideas!!

Hi there! Good for you for making the size of their home important even if it does make things cramped for you!! :) That being said, we have a quite large c&c. It's a 3x5 with a 3x1 kitchen up top. I was concerned bout taking space up on the bottom for the ramp, and thought about doing an "L"...

Aggression My oldest piggy is picking on the youngest!!!

Well grandma pig (SweetPea) is about 8-9 months old and she's been with her baby (Buttercup) since she was born, and she's about 4 months now. They've been in with Buttercup's baby for a few weeks now.

In Heat Female piggie slaves, do all your girls exhibit "in heat" behaviours ?

Oh I knew you didn't mean it towards me-- but what I wrote kinda sounded like I didn't love them the same. I felt like a bad piggyMommy!! Lol.

In Heat Female piggie slaves, do all your girls exhibit "in heat" behaviours ?

Dont get me wrong, I love all my piggers. But she holds a special place in my heart for sure. Theres something about her little wheeks when I come home and everytime she hears a bag crinkle how she runs to the grids and puts her little feet on the bars to see me. She's just the cutest little...

In Heat Female piggie slaves, do all your girls exhibit "in heat" behaviours ?

It must be the name... My buttercup (the momma pig) is the easiest going doesnt show signs and always happy. She's (hate to choose) but my absolute favorite piggy. Anyway, my other two definitely show it. They both are lazy rumblestrutting around mounting everything don't want to be handled...

Aggression My oldest piggy is picking on the youngest!!!

Thank you!! Earlier when I posted that I had her on my lap. I didn't want her being picked on.. I love my "babies"!! She got kind of squirmy so I let her back in her cage. It started right up again-- being chased! I let it go this time but watched them. It stopped after a minute or two! Thanks...

Aggression My oldest piggy is picking on the youngest!!!

So I have 3 girls. The one weve had the longest is the baby, we went back to the shelter for a friend and found a bonded pair. Turns out the pair is her mom and grandma. But the thing is, is grandma piggy is the dominant one. Sometimes she just chases baby around the cage for no reason leaving...

Behavior I am very confused at my guinea pigs behavior.

She almost vibrates and sounds like a little pigeon sometimes when she does it! It's so funny! When she first did it, I stopped touching her because I thought maybe she didn't like it. Now she gives a loud WHEEK!!! when we stop like she's saying keep rubbing! hahaha. I would think if it bothered...

Behavior I am very confused at my guinea pigs behavior.

Not quite sure if this is the same thing, but if we pet or rub our piggy just right (and on her it's quite easy) she kicks out her bak feet kind of lays to one side her eyes kind if get a squint she lays her head down and purs. My daughter always says it's tickling her. Hope her lice clears up...

Behavior Making my cavies more social and keeping their cage clean.

Congrats on your new piggies! :-) Number one: Bonding with your pigs, depending on their personalities and how old they are, takes a little time. Handle them often, lots of floor time, and some favorite veggies hand fed at lap time will help a lot. Good luck! Number two: Make sure if they are...

Is is bad to adopt from a feedstore?

I really appreciate everyones advice. I still have mixed feelings. I should rescue-- I have rescued 3. I'll start watching pet finder again, or just stick to my herd of three. After all it is my user name :)
