just so happened to remember this account exists after going through an old list of my accounts LOL

we're house hunting ATM and may have found the one (if we're approved on the loan) and am wondering if it would be safe to set up a cage in the laundry room. i'm going to assume not, because of how loud a washer/dryer could be compared to what a pig can handle sound-wise, but it's quite the large room and i've got the OK to start the hobby again with much more knowledge and maturity in my pocket!

kind of hard to find anyone posting about guinea pigs and their hearing, so i thought i'd pose the question here even though i don't think im going to go through with it, would love to get further input!

I would say absolutely not. The noise, the chemicals, It would be a no for me.

I don’t think it’s ideal. Noise, fragrances, temperature changes, and lint in the air would be a concern for me. Also, it’s an out-of-the-way area that wouldn’t get much traffic. They really should be in a busy part of the house where they have more interaction.

Mine is in a sunroom off the kitchen and her job is keeping an eye on the refrigerator so she doesn’t miss out on fresh veggies.
