Completed Cage for 2007! - Guinea Pig Cages

The 2007 model is complete with new hay-loft area. Lets hope it lasts the year, without more re-working! Cozies, cushions and other home comforts added - not to mention new bed! After adding pigs, I quickly took out the hammock/cozy setup near the hay area, as it was proving a bit too popular, an
That looks great! I love all the different colors and toys! Could you please Private message me what you put under the fleece and where you got it? I've tried puppy pads but they just get soaked through after one day and the coroplast benieth it was always soggy so I switched back to bedding.

Cheers folks! :cheerful:

catzeye - I just use a thick layer of newspaper under the fleece - though some folk use towels and papers, or puppy pads. This week, I am trying out using wadding/batting under the fleece at the back of the base level (under the first level) as I have heard that it is great under fleece. First weekly clean-out this weekend - so will see how it performs then!

If you go into the forum - there are loads of posts on fleece - in the bedding forum: https://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/bedding-hay/ Have a look around - there are lots of options - you just need to find out what suits you best!

I have the last two weeks, added a few thick layers of wadding/batting between the newspapers and fleece, in the area under the first level. This is where they tend to sleep. It has made it lovely and soft for the girlies - and I am sure the batting is wicking the pee away from the fleece faster than the paper alone.

Thast is so pretty and clean looking! I am just starting out with my C&C you all have given me some wonderful ideas!

It was fatal calling this the 'completed' cage for 2007! Completely ridiculous!

I have recently extended the kitchen area - so it now fills the 2 x 3 upstairs section. It is filled with megazorb - still has the two hay racks (have removed the third one from downstairs to see how it goes) and I put the veggies in there too now.

This is it - for now! lol
